Why I liked it
This epic tells the story of the Night Witches, Female bomber pilots (Russian) during world war II, who terrorized the Nazi invaders for years, through the eyes of Nina Markova. Her fascinating story gripped me from the beginning, and it’s hard not to fall for this tenacious woman.
But the story doesn’t stop there. It spans beyond the war, from Russia to Europe to America, following Nazi hunters who try to bring the worst of the Nazi criminals to justice after the war.
But most of the world wants to move on. And in America, nobody can believe that the deadliest of Nazi assassins is living amongst them. Nobody, that is, but Nina and the other hunters who have joined her quest to track down this vicious killer.
The characters are gripping, the intertwined stories intriguing, and the history I learned was enlightening. I saw some lower ratings on Goodreads, but I don’t know why. I loved this book.
